Remington College Cosmetology Departments Offer Cuts for Cause

Heathrow, Fla. – (October 19, 2011) – Remington College is once again holding food drives on several of its campuses and offering a complimentary haircut, manicure or pedicure to anyone who brings in a can of food or other non-perishable food item. 

 

The effort is called Cuts for Cause and will run throughout the month of November.

 

The complimentary salon services will be provided by students and instructors in the Remington College cosmetology program.

 

“Our primary goal is to help families put food on the table in our campus communities,” said Dr. Mike Lanouette, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer forRemingtonCollege. “But Cuts for Cause also provides our students with a way to give back to their community and gain real-world experience by working with a variety of clients as part of our curriculum.”  

 

Remington College has also provided thousands of complimentary back-to-school haircuts through its popular Cuts for Kids program.

 

The Remington College Cosmetology Program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training. Students have the opportunity to work with real clients in a salon-like setting. The program is available at thirteenRemingtonCollegecampuses:Baton Rouge,Memphis,Tampa,Houston(three locations),Cleveland,Mobile,Lafayette,Nashville,DallasandColumbia(South Carolina) andHonolulu.
