Anthony AJ Green
Speaking to the power of blood donation in changing lives
"Wow" is the word we hear when people learn AJ's story. This remarkable young man suffers from sickle cell disease, but thanks to blood donations like those promoted by the 3 Lives campaign, AJ has found breakout stardom as a musician. We can think of no better example of the difference blood donors can make in the lives of people with sickle cell disease, and we are delighted to welcome AJ as spokesman for the 3 Lives campaign.
"Whatever You Need"
In 2009, the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted AJ's wish to record some songs with an unexpected twist: they booked him several musical appearances on behalf of the foundation. Through this exposure to music industry pros, AJ scored the opportunity to release an album, "Whatever You Need." AJ has performed for notables ranging from Presidents Clinton and Obama to stars like Elton John and Jennifer Hudson.
"I don't want my music to be only about my pain or my hurt. I want it to be about victory over any situation."

Real lives, real impact
AJ knows first-hand the importance and impact of charitable giving. He returns a portion of all sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helped him start this amazing journey. He is also the founder of the We Need To Change Campaign, to encourage more people to reach out to people in their communities (locally and globally) who need help. His story demonstrates in real-world terms just how important blood donations are.
